About

As an educational body paving its path toward excellence, formerly founded as Go Vap Vocational School by Don Bosco priests on November 11, 1956, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) has made remarkable improvements and considerable transformations in all of its aspects. Although not having a long-time history in comparison with many universities in the country as it was officially recognized as Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City in 2004 according to the Decision of 214/2004/QD - TTg by the Prime Minister, the university has significantly developed to become one of the biggest educational and training institutions in Vietnam. Valuable long-time experience in vocational training has also advantaged the university to grow in the application orientation.

Besides enhancing professional quality of the administrative and teaching staff, investing the best facilities in teaching, learning and action research, the university also pays much attention to providing high quality training services for thousands of students from almost areas nationwide. Currently, besides the main campus in Ho Chi Minh City, the university also expand its training, researching and service to the Central of the country at Quang Ngai Campus. Such activities are implemented there to better meet the needs of the area as well as the country in high-quality labor force. In addition, the school’s premise in Thanh Hoa, a province in the North Central Coast is contributing to the school’s income by the serves it provides and serves as a spin-off company of the university.

While attempting to best complete the mission, additionally, the university also put great emphasis on motivating its core values, which are embedded in the abbreviation of its name. Thevaluesare “I nnovation - U nity – H umanity”, which can be demonstrated through university policies, faculties/departments practices, and as well as behaviors of both staff and students/graduates. Graduates from IUH, for example, can demonstrate the “I-U-H” values by “Desiring to create value and keeping themselves proactive in seizing lifelong learning opportunities for the sake of their own continuous improvement; Being dynamic & ready to put themselves under new challenges, goals, and pressure; and Pursuing passion, desiring to improve themselves and getting promoted in their career.”

Despite the rapid development IUH has made, the statement ofEducational philosophyhas always remained unchanged "Quality, Sustainable Development, International Integration". Among the three aspects being emphasized, Quality is the premier factor which also helps foster Sustainable Development as well as Internal Integration. This statement of philosophy has affected and been involved in every aspect of the education from training to assessment, research or management in the university.
