About

A private university located within Tokyo in the Ikebukuro district, Rikkyo University is also known as St Paul’s University - a name which traces its origins back to 1794 when a European missionary founded a school for boys.

11 faculties exist at the university today, covering the following subject areas: Law and Politics, Arts, Intercultural Communication, Business, Science, Sociology, Economics, Tourism, Community and Human Services, Contemporary Psychology, and a Global Liberal Arts Program. Approximately 20,000 students are enrolled at the university, with the vast majority studying at undergraduate level. Slightly over 700 students are classified as international, while female students out-number male students.
