About

Founded in 1999, by Mr. M.A. Raoof, under the auspices of the Ibadat Education Trust, ‘The University of Lahore (UOL)’ was granted degree awarding status by the Government of the Punjab, Pakistan in October 2002. It has created a name for itself in the field of higher education and is regarded as one of the premier private sector universities of Pakistan with diverse disciplines ranging from Medicine and Engineering to Creative Arts and Social Sciences.

The University of Lahore (UOL) has been listed amongst top 350 best Asian Universities as per latest globally recognized QS World University Rankings: Asia 2021. Further, UOL is amongst the few top universities of Pakistan that have made it to the global list of top performers on United Nations' (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as per the most recent Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings 2020. Furthermore, the university has been positioned as 268th World’s Most Sustainable University in the last UI Green Metric Rankings, for its commitment to the greening of Campus and putting in place environmentally friendly policies that support sustainability. The HEC placed UOL at its highest “W4” category. The inclusion of UOL in these prestigious rankings elucidates that it is one of the top institutions which fulfill all criteria for being an international quality university.

The undergraduate, graduate and research programs run at UOL are recognized by the HEC and respective regulatory bodies of Pakistan. The university also has fully accredited programs in Architecture, IT, Law, Nursing, Engineering, Pharmacy, Medical, Dental and Business from Pakistan Council of Architects & Town Planners (PCATP), National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC), Pakistan Bar Council (PBC), Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC), Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), Pharmacy Council of Pakistan (PCP), Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) and National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC), respectively.

UOL enjoys excellent linkages with international universities in China, Malaysia, Turkey, Sudan, Cyprus and many others. It also has strong linkages with the industry, which are of paramount importance for any higher education institution.

The university has invested in a number of Technology Park projects such as Media Technology Park, The Creative Village – a premier facility for professional media content, Agri. Technology Park and a Biotechnology Park to support the growth and progressive development of students and the country as a whole.

UOL also pays strong emphasis on research as evident by a number of research grants available to various departments within the university and its investments into dedicated research projects and facilities, for instance CRIMM (Center for Research in Molecular Medicine) etc.,

The university continues to be at the forefront and continually strives to produce excellent graduates and research in areas of Sciences, Arts, Engineering, Health Sciences, Languages & Literature, Information Technology, Management, Business Administration and many others.
