About

Universidad de Las Américas (UDLA) is a private, non-profit institution of higher education in Quito, Ecuador.   Founded in 1994, UDLA has established itself as a university that embraces change with a spirit of innovation and a forward-looking institutional culture that responds to student´s needs and a dynamic global society.

From its early days, UDLA has grown to the largest self-financed university in Ecuador, with four state-of-the-art facilities plus an experimental farm and an ever-increasing presence in research.   Today the university serves around 17,000 students in more than 60 undergraduate and graduate programs across the disciplines: health sciences, engineering, architecture and design, business, gastronomy, communication, tourism, psychology, film, and music.

UDLA is the only Ecuadorian university to hold institutional accreditation from a U.S. regional accrediting agency, WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).  UDLA offers six-month exchange programs to international students who are fluent in Spanish and seeking to spend a semester in Ecuador, as well as the chance to apply for full degrees at UDLA from overseas.
