The University of Anbar, Iraq, was established in 1987 and started with two colleges: the College for the Education of Women and the College of Education for Humanities. The university, which is located in Ramadi City in the Governorate of of Al-Anbar, has now flourished into 18 colleges with 61 departments and 6 scientific research centres.
Ramadi enjoys a warm, riverside climate and sits on one of the main roads through Iraq. Sights in the city include one of the largest mosques in the area, fully restored in 2017.
