Established in 1877 and located in the heart of the country, we are the region's largest and only research intensive university offering over 100 degrees, diplomas, and certificates -- more than 70 at the undergraduate level including professional disciplines such as medicine, law, and engineering. We have 22 Research Centres and Institutes with an Interdisciplinary focus that promote multidisciplinary approaches to investigating research questions. Our energetic university community is comprised of 30,000 students, 9,000 faculty and staff, and 190,000 alumni.
