The University of Silesia in Katowice is accredited to offer over80 full-time and part-time programmes, including unique programmes such as the following: Aquamatics - Interdisciplinary Management of Water Environments, International Studies in Political Science and Diplomacy, Music in Multimedia, Biophysics and Medical Physics.
The programmes offer a total of over200 specialisations, including Biomedical Solutions Designer, Molecular Biophysics, Geophysics, Nanophysics and Mesoscopic Materials, Geoecology and New Media Journalism.
The University regularly upgrades its didactic offer by launching new programmes which reflect the needs of the labour market. The University has almost22,000 intramural and extramural studentsat theBA, MA, postgraduate and Ph.D. level, following115 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes subdivided into over 200 specializations. All courses are recognized by the ECTS, which facilitates international student exchange.
The University of Silesia also offers education for doctoral students in more than20 disciplinesin the fields of humanities, theology, art, social sciences, exact and natural sciences as well as engineering and technical sciences. The education is interdisciplinary and specialized. The University provides doctoral students with opportunities to conduct interesting and innovative research projects. Education is organized in the Doctoral School and the International Environmental Doctoral School associated with the Centre for Polar Studies at the University of Silesia in Katowice. All doctoral students conduct research and receive scholarship. Doctoral education is free of charge.
